Design Process

design image Step 1 - Initial Visit
After the initial contact I will arrange a visit your home to talk through what you want from your garden: how you wish to use it, what elements you want in it, any ideas you already have, your likes and dislikes with regard to plants and hard landscape materials etc. I will agree the extent of my input and give you a fixed price and timescale for the design work, which will be summarised in a written brief.

Step 2 - Site Survey
The next stage will be to conduct an accurate survey of the site and take photographs ready to start developing design ideas.

Step 3 - Design Concepts / Master Plan
Based on the survey and agreed brief I will develop some initial design concepts. Following discussion of these with yourselves a detailed design will be prepared - a master plan.

This will be to scale showing the layout of areas and elements within the design - paths, borders, trees, structures etc. Specifications will be recommended for the hard landscaping and some general idea of planting schemes. The plan will include visual representations of the garden, to give you a an idea of how the plan will look in reality. The plan will be sufficient for both costing and construction by either the appointed landscape contractor or yourselves.

Detailed planting plans showing exact species, numbers, sizes, location can be quoted for and prepared separately if they were not already agreed as a part of the brief.

Construction and Planting

Fushia Step 4 - Implementation
If required the client to build and plant up the design Signature Gardens works in partnership with a local landscaper Bankcliffe Ltd., with whom we worked with on many of our designs.

Quotations for construction and planting will be obtained for agreement with you. The costs will also include project management and design support from Signature Gardens throughout the build program.

Once costs are agreed a start date and timescale will be confirmed for construction to commence.

Please note that the contractor costs will include VAT. All Signature Gardens costs are exempt from VAT.
